The first day of fall may have been last month, but today officially feels like autumn. The weather has finally cooled down. Last night’s wind left many trees nearly barren, yet orange, red, and yellow still create the backdrop that I almost take for granted as a lifetime New Englander. And the bounty of apples and pumpkins is overflowing at every grocery and market. It’s my season. My favorite people’s birthdays, my favorite holidays, Halloween and Thanksgiving, and Christmas is just around the corner. While Christmas in October makes most people roll their eyes (I’m with you – why is every box store decked out in Christmas before we even get to Halloween?!), I always feel a sense of amnesia to the previous year’s insanity and get excited to decorate, buy gifts, and celebrate with friends and family – not to mention belt out all those fabulous Christmas songs while I’m driving or cooking. “It’s the holiday season… Santa, baby…”
It’s been a while since I promoted gift baskets, but here we go again… making baskets.
This year I have some fun items to consider: cozy organic socks to add to the gift basket love; The Simple Sampler to stuff into the stocking for a pampering surprise; and please don’t forget the ability to personalize your gift, be it basket or item. If you want patchouli, I’ve got pachouli. If you prefer a gift basket to the nines, I can create it. But if you’d just prefer a lip balm without any essential oil, I’ve got your back too. It’s what I love most, keeping it personal.
Here’s a great resource for anyone who enjoys making their own remedies. I posted it on FB, but wanted to include it for non-FB peeps. When I was a younger, around early middle school, I remember having horrendous cold sores and never really understanding why or what to do about them. It was seriously embarrassing. I’m not sure if I built up an immunity or the eventual bone marrow transplant cured more than cancer, but for fear of jinxing myself I won’t tell you in words my current relationship with cold sores. But I feel for you. If anyone would like me to make a cold sore-remedy lip balm, just let me know – I’ve got the goods.
Much love and happiness,
