You won’t find many guinea pigs more suitable to test out deodorant than myself. Unlike some we’ve heard about lately, my yearbook memories included “deodorant” because I was known for having a can at all times (yes, it was aerosol for on-the-go application before and after a game of field hockey). Deodorant has always been the monkey on my back, the bane of my body care routine. I’m not sure which side of my family bestowed upon me my sweat gland response, but it absolutely rivals anyone I’ve ever met (not to mention who did I get those cheeks from?!). Workouts, stress, or a hot summer day cause me to become… how do I say… unpleasant. And that takes me far outside my comfort zone. So, I’ve always used the mass-produced “clinical” variety deodorants that promise “24-hour protection” – aluminum and all.
Since starting simple. pure. love. I’ve wanted to go au naturale in the deodorant department and have been asked many times for natural deodorant, but as I said earlier, I was bound to a fear of odorous repercussions. I apologize for the production delay – although good things come to those who wait.
When RealFarmacy posted their natural deodorant recipe I heard the calling to “just do it”. I shared their original recipe on Facebook, but as usual, I adjusted my recipe based on contemplation and research. I cut back on baking soda and added bentonite clay powder, plus a bit of lemon eucalyptus and tea tree essential oil for extra anti-bacterial/antiseptic protection.
My friends, it may not be the prettiest (and the batch I’ll make for those that want it will be in deodorant tubes and processed for market), but it’s a winner!
I am in love!!! The concoction blows my mind. I haven’t taken it to the Pinnacle yet, but I’ve gardened, worked out, and even took my time showering on a lazy Sunday morning – the “aroma” results have been nada, nil, naught, zilch, zip, diddly-squat. It isn’t off smelling, which I find commercial deodorant to be. It has kept me dry throughout all my activities. And I’ve had none of the marks on my clothes that often occur after applying the over-the-counter solid stuff. I’m sold beyond sold!!!
I’m looking for 5 more guinea pigs to test out the au naturale deodorant for two weeks and report back. You’ll receive a free stick of deodorant and a 25%-off coupon for your feedback (that’s 25% off your entire purchase!!!).
Here’s the deal…
As a simple. pure. love. guinea pig, you promise:
- to provide regular honest feedback during your two-week testing in order to receive the 25% off coupon at the end of the two-week period;
- to use it alone, with no other deodorant, for the entire two weeks;
- to have no known allergies to any of the ingredients;
- and to contact me if you decide it’s not working for you and want to call it quits, so I can find a new guinea pig.
In about a month I’ll post the user results online.
First come, first serve to become one of the five guinea pigs.
Please email or direct message me if you’re interested.
Much love and happiness,
